The presence of those creatures does seem rather convenient. It almost feels as if the author simply decided to showcase the fighting skills of the main character and introduce them on the road. It is peculiar that we have no prior knowledge of such creatures, and even more so that they weren't engaged in a battle when the main character approached. Just weird seeing these imposing monsters seemingly act like opps jumping my boy.

It was quite a surprising motive, indeed. Planning to kill the main character just to acquire some hoes is quite unexpected. I must admit, I became somewhat attached to them as well, and I was genuinely concerned that the main character might seek vengeance for their betrayal. Fortunately, the goblins are unaware of the Orcs' attack (at least for now), as it would surely strain the relationship between the two groups. Thankfully, this part of the story seems to have a comedic touch to it, which adds a lighter tone to the narrative.

The growth of that fruit does seem rather convenient, doesn't it? The idea of it initially being poisonous and only becoming edible when watered with magical water feels like an unnecessary detail. The basic needs being easily met can make the kingdom-building aspect of the story less engaging. After all, if problems related to basic needs are effortlessly solved, the story may lose some of its intrigue. However, I do recognize the potential for the story to shift its focus towards other concerns of the citizens.
